PTO Fall Carnival Poster Contest

I took pictures of the kids on the way to school this morning. Every year Normangee has a poster contest. The poster contest consist of submitting a poster with a fall or Halloween them stating when, where, and what time the Fall Carnival will start and be. The contest is for kids from Pre-K thru 6th grade. Once the posters are judged, they are placed all over town advertising for the event which is put on by the PTO. Last year Cameron won 1st place-he received a $20.00 gift certificate to the book fair, Taylor didn’t place last year. This year, Taylor won 3rd place-$5.00 gift certificate to the book fair and Cameron didn’t place. We have fun each year making these posters. We look thru many coloring book pages until they decide which one they want me to draw and then I attempt to make them look like the coloring pages. The ultimate complement I got from the kids was the next morning Taylor woke up and wanted to see the picture I drew. She was so excited at how it turned out and told me, “Mom, it (poster) looks like an artist drew this!” She made my day. That comment was made about the poster I drew this year. I think they turned out cute.

Chameleon

Taylor and I were sitting on the couch the other night when Jon made a comment (like he always does) about my appearance (something about him thinking I am pretty or something like that). Taylor then spoke up and said, "I am just like my mom, I am a chameleon." She cracks me up!

Megan...National Honor Society!!

We are SO proud of Megan. She was inducted in to the Jr. High National Honor Society last night 10/11/05. She is so beautiful. She is growing up so fast! We are proud of you and love you Megan!

For those of you who are interested... this site has coloring pages and activites for children ages ?-12. The coloring pages can be entered in to a contest for a prize of $1,000. I don't know if you are familiar with Dave Ramsey but he is definately someone you should read up on. Especially if you are in debt, want to teach your children how to manage money, or if you want to learn a better way of managing money. I have nearly all of his books and his childrens books. "Fastita's"

I made chicken fahitas the other night. Cameron thought they were great (a little chicken with lots of cheese and sour cream). He was very confident when he said, "Mom, I sure like these fastita's!" Made me laugh! Out of the mouth of a 6 year old!!!

Saturday Night Football August 20, 2005

Murphy's comin'

I know everyone has probably heard of "Murphy", you know, Murphy's Law. It seems as if everything is happening (going wrong) around my house!!! First it was the vechicles dying, and having to buy another one, along with having trouble with getting my ex-husband to do "responsible" things (I won't go in to that!) that he is supposed to do. My refrigerator compressor/evaporator is going out and I called Sears for an estimate, only $863.00 to fix it. (I am eating my words for complaining about having two refrigerators now!) My washing machine is going out, AND the bank has royally screwed up my accounts and completely deleted one of my savings accounts that belongs to one of my nephews. This particular account was created with the money received from the people who contributed monies instead of flower after the death if my sister. AND my other nephew who is 5 years old now has his name on my accounts and the bank can't find my name or anything. So now I have to go to a banking center and take off of work, travel 45 + miles with gas being at $2.50 a gallon to fix their screw up. You know, it is really an eye opener how someone can just go into my accounts and screw it up! Makes me think twice. I have already contacted the Banking Commission and I have a case # created. We will see what my bank does, but they better fix it quick!

Here is Cameron Blake Biddle... I am sure that you know who he is because he is a professional Horseback rider!!!! (or at least he thinks he is) Every time Cameron was given instructions on what to do with the horse(s), he would come back with a reply, "I know!" "I KNOW!!!" It was hilarious. So, if anyone ever has any questions on how to ride a horse, please give Cameron a call because HE KNOWS! He doesn't look like he is only 6 years old does he!?!

We went horseback riding at a friends house this weekend. The kids had a wonderful time. I was sore after about 15 minutes of riding! Gosh, I am getting old!

This picture was with an article by the Texas Cooperative Extension Agency talking about being creative and then going in to beef and stuff. Whatever! Thought it was cute and they sure were proud of having their picture in the paper.

4th of July "weekend"

I thought the 4th of July was supposed to be a "Holiday"! Jon's Explorer died on him on the way home from work Friday (6/1/05). Needless to say, we car shopped ALL weekend. That was fun trying to get a car on a holiday weekend. Spent the day in Bryan Saturday. Sunday was spent in Houston. We got a car. Toyota Corolla '05, silver, standard. Jon loves it. It gets 41 mpg. Considering he travels 100+ miles round trip per day driving to work and to see Megan and Sidney during the week, it was the ideal car! Happy Anniversary to us! LOL We will be married 2 years July 6th! I love you Jon! I like your/our car! I got to spend time with mom and dad on Monday. I enjoyed you coming mom and dad. We spent the day eating hot dogs and playing cards (31). Next time you come, you better bring more money!!! Jon and I are getting better at cards, you better watch out! I love you mom and daddy.

Normangee Panter Paws (Dance Team)

Taylor (top left) participated in the Panther Paw Dance Team this past school year ('04). She learned dance routines with the pom-pom's and flags. She was adorable. Love you Taylor!!!! I am very proud of you!!!
